TROUBLE ARTICULATOIRE

JOINT DISORDER

Impact on oral health

Articulation disorders can have significant consequences on oral health. By affecting pronunciation, these disorders can lead to a bad bite, where the upper and lower teeth do not align properly. This can cause premature wear of the teeth and pain in the joints.

Additionally, to compensate for these difficulties, some people adopt habits such as bruxism, which can damage teeth and gums. Joint disorders can also make oral hygiene more difficult, increasing the risk of cavities and periodontal disease.

To maintain your oral health, it is important to regularly consult professionals who can help you manage these problems.

Bruxism

Bruxism is a disorder characterized by grinding or clenching of the teeth, often unconsciously, especially during sleep. This can lead to a variety of dental problems, such as tooth wear, jaw pain, headaches, and muscle tension. Causes of bruxism can include stress, anxiety, sleep disturbances, or dental occlusion issues. It is important to consult a dental professional to assess the situation and implement solutions, such as mouth guards or stress management techniques.

Occlusal plate

Tooth protection

It prevents excessive tooth wear by absorbing clenching and grinding forces.

Pain relief

By reducing pressure on the temporomandibular joints, it can help reduce facial pain and associated headaches.

Improved comfort

It allows for better alignment of the jaw, providing greater comfort during the night.

Damage prevention

It protects dentures, crowns and dental bridges from damage caused by bruxism.

Promotes muscle relaxation

By decreasing tension in the jaw muscles, it can contribute to general relaxation.

Adjustability & practicality

Occlusal splints can be adjusted to fit the user's mouth perfectly, providing personalized comfort while being simple to use.

Fractured or broken teeth

Pain and tension
